RhB A1227

The standard cars EW I A 1223-1243, AB 1519-1534 and B 2341-2373 procured for the main network between 1962 and 1966 form the largest car series in the RhB passenger car fleet to date. For the new NEVA-Retica train concept, all ABs were converted to the A 1243-1250 and B 2290-2297 in 1998/99 and adapted in terms of braking technology. Some of the A and B were also adapted for use with the BDt 1751-58 control car through the Vereina tunnel. You can recognize these vehicles by the blue brake corners and the additional control sockets.
