BVZ B 2285

Between 1968 and 1975, BVZ procured a total of 18 new standard cars with the A 2071-2078 and B 2281-2290. The vehicles manufactured at SIG are closely related to the type III standard wagon of the SBB Brünigbahn and wagons of the Bernese Oberland Railway. Thanks to their multiple control line, they are used together with the control car Bt 2251-2254 in shuttle service; they can often be found in the "Glacier Express". In the meantime, two of the first-class cars were equipped with a luggage compartment and designated AD 2077-2078. After the merger of BVZ and FO into the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB), modifications were made to the ventilation and additional units were installed on the roof.
